Taste of Poland Festiva 2017, another unforgettable day for the Polish community in Atlanta.
On Saturday, October 14th yet another successful Taste of Poland Festival took place. The Festival was a wonderful opportunity for learning about and experiencing the Polish culture and history. Scrumptious dishes prepared by volunteers, beautiful decorations and attractions for the young and old were all in the theme of ‘forbidden Poland 1939 - 1944’. Music and dances, costumes, and games for children demonstrated how very challenging, but also interesting, this time was for Poland. The following were among the Festival guests: the Chopin Society of Atlanta, Tomek and Merrilyn Sikorski, Joan and Mel Gordon, Anna Sokol - Senior Attorney at Joseph H. Rosen Immigration Law Group, P.C.
Attendees had a chance to learn about the activities of the Polish Club of Atlanta and the Polish School in Atlanta. They could also purchase the following books: „Pulaski - The Forgotten Hero of Two Worlds” by Joan and Mel Gordon, and „Innocence & Reality: A Miraculous Journey of Faith and Family During WWII” by Maciej Sikorski.
In common with the previous editions of the Festival, this year’s event owes its success to the organizational talents of the amazing Dorota Olson and a large group of volunteers she motivated and organized. Among the volunteers were teachers and students of the Polish School in Atlanta, members of the Polish Diaspora in Atlanta, and the members of the Polish Club of Atlanta. One of the aims of the Festival is raising funds for the Polish School in Atlanta. Indeed, all the proceeds from the Festival support the School. We are eternally grateful to Dorota Olson and all the volunteers for their hard work, their devotion, and all they do for the Polish School and for the Polish community in Atlanta.
